Job summary

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) in Torrance, CA, part of Howmet Aerospace, seeks a Continuous Improvement Manager to lead lean manufacturing initiatives, drive efficiency, and improve on-time delivery. You will standardize processes, train operators, and collaborate across functions to reduce waste, cut costs, and boost productivity while maintaining safety.

The role requires five years of manufacturing experience, leadership ability, and a Bachelor's degree; salary ranges from $140k to $170k

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment with lean manufacturing experience.
Minimum 3 years of leadership experience.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business.
Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, querying databases, ERP systems.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Export-control data access eligibility is required.

Responsibilities

Define activities that require engineered solutions to reduce waste and improve throughput.
Lead cross-functional shop floor improvements, including CAPEX considerations.
Standardize processes and document repeatability; train operators.
Analyze Profit and Loss statements to identify opportunities for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and margin improvement.
Drive continuous improvement via Lean Six Sigma principles and data-driven problem solving.
Monitor KPIs to track progress and sustain improvements across the site.
