Job description

Continuous Improvement Leader/Manager - Lean Manufacturing
Greater Richmond, VA | $150K-$180K | Relocation Assistance | Direct Hire

To expedite consideration of your application, please email your resume directly to melissa.adams@adeccona.com

Are you a seasoned Lean Manufacturing leader who has transformed complex manufacturing operations - not simply participated in Continuous Improvement initiatives?

We are recruiting for a Continuous Improvement Leader/Manager to join a rapidly growing, highly sophisticated manufacturing operation in the Greater Richmond, VA area.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an accomplished Lean Manufacturing subject matter expert who knows how to walk onto a manufacturing floor, identify waste and process constraints, engage the people closest to the work, and lead sustainable transformation that produces measurable results.

The Manufacturing Environment

This operation manufactures and assembles large-scale, highly engineered modular products supporting mission-critical infrastructure and data center environments.

We are particularly interested in professionals coming from complex, long-cycle manufacturing and assembly environments similar to:

  • Automotive manufacturing
  • Heavy equipment / industrial machinery
  • Large electromechanical assemblies
  • Sheet metal / metal fabrication
  • Engineered-to-order manufacturing
  • Complex modular manufacturing

Think Caterpillar / Toyota-style Lean discipline applied within a growing, highly engineered manufacturing environment.

What You'll Lead

You'll own and influence Continuous Improvement across the operation, partnering with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Quality and other cross-functional leaders to:

  • Lead end-to-end Lean transformation initiatives from opportunity identification through implementation, measurement and sustainment.
  • Analyze complex manufacturing processes and eliminate waste using Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, Visual Management, root-cause analysis and other Lean methodologies.
  • Establish meaningful KPIs and performance metrics to quantify improvements in productivity, quality, flow, cost and operational effectiveness.
  • Serve as a true change agent, building Lean capability and gaining buy-in from the production floor through senior leadership.
  • Develop and facilitate Lean training that empowers employees and leaders to independently identify and solve operational problems.
  • Create a sustainable Continuous Improvement culture rather than a series of one-time projects.
What We're Looking For

This is a senior-level opening, and we're looking for a true Lean Manufacturing SME with:

  • 10+ years of progressive Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Proven success leading major Lean transformations within manufacturing
  • Deep expertise in Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, Visual Management and waste reduction
  • Experience within complex, long-cycle manufacturing and assembly operations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change management
  • Exceptional facilitation, communication and executive-influence skills
  • Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving capabilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business or related discipline; Master's preferred
Why Consider It?

This isn't a Continuous Improvement role where you'll be maintaining someone else's established program.

You'll have the opportunity to help shape Lean strategy within a rapidly growing manufacturing campus, influence how work gets done, develop people and processes, and create improvements that directly impact a global mission-critical infrastructure business.

Compensation:
  • $150K-$180K base MAX, depending on experience
  • Plus discretionary annual bonus, performance based (4-7% approx)
  • Relocation assistance available for the right candidate.
  • Life and Disability insurance (LTD/STD)
  • 401(k) with 50% match up to 6% immediately vested
  • Cell phone reimbursement
  • Car allowance/mileage reimbursement where appropriate
  • Commuter benefits, Tuition reimbursement, Paid maternity leave
  • Countless Employee Appreciation events, Company apparel, PPE & Annual celebration events

If you've spent your career building world-class Lean manufacturing operations and are ready for an opportunity where your expertise can make a visible impact, I'd love to connect.
