We are currently hiring a Continuous Improvement Manager in our Breinigsville, PA brewery.

Boston Beer Company is experiencing rapid growth, and we need to enhance our manufacturing capabilities to meet increasing market demand. To achieve this, we are cultivating a culture of Operational Excellence through our Unrivaled Performance (UP) program, based on the successful Integrated Work Systems (IWS) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies. We aim to empower our brewery team members with processes, skills, and tools that support this journey.

The Focused Improvement Manager will focus on developing our co-workers' ability to access accurate, real-time data and utilize it to eliminate inefficiencies through rigorous root cause analysis. This role involves cross-functional leadership, supporting shopfloor operations, operational leaders, and process engineers, with expertise in data systems and root cause analysis tools.

What You'll Brew:
  • Set the long-term strategic vision and growth strategy for the brand.
  • Support the shopfloor by leading and coaching, spending about 50% of your time on-the-floor.
  • Be the subject matter expert in Loss Tree Analysis, Rate Analysis, Loss Coding, data interpretation, and manufacturing loss data sources. Develop effective tools for precise loss analysis.
  • Be an expert in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Initial Problem Solving (IPS), Unified Problem Solving (UPS), and 5-why analysis. Capable of teaching, coaching, and certifying others in these tools.
  • Establish effective relationships at all levels and influence for impact and change.
  • Conduct training and certification on Focused Improvement tools; lead or participate in the Focused Improvement Pillar.
  • Coordinate with IT, Power BI, and MES teams to ensure effective data collection and reporting, representing operational needs.
  • Promote the adoption of Unrivaled Performance / Integrated Working Systems methodology across all organizational levels.
Level: 6

The salary range for this role, if hired, is $76,500 - $135,200 annually, depending on location and experience. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on performance, and certain sales roles may receive a car allowance.

What Ingredients You'll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Over 4 years in progressive operational and process engineering roles.
  • Proven experience implementing lean processes on the shopfloor.
  • Strong understanding of TPM, WCM, or IWS methodologies.
  • Ability to promote the adoption of standardized processes and systems.
  • Experience fostering collaborative work environments across the supply chain and business units.
  • Track record of designing and implementing effective business processes and systems.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives with sustained results.
  • Financial acumen in supply chain finance.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Power BI.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in Operations and Maintenance/Reliability Departments.
  • Six Sigma certification (Black Belt, Green Belt).
  • Experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including walking, standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and working in elevated areas while wearing PPE or respirators.
