Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel in the United States is seeking a Continuous Improvement professional to design, manage, and optimize solutions in Contract Logistics, ensuring goods are stored, handled, and delivered with precision.

You will lead the site's Continuous Improvement program, promote Lean Six Sigma across the site, drive Kaizen activities and Lean Six projects, test new technologies, and align initiatives with regional productivity targets while supporting regional belts and training.

Qualifications

• Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years Continuous Improvement experience.
• 5 years in a Warehousing environment.
• 2-5 years Project Management experience.
• Lean Six Green Belt.
• Ability to travel for training and classes as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage the site's Continuous Improvement (CI) program for quality and productivity.
• Lead Kaizen activities and Lean Six projects.
• Test, evaluate and introduce new technologies in contract logistics.
• Align projects to meet Production System Savings targets and regional productivity targets.
• Present project portfolios from Value Stream Analysis.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers and plan value-added services.
• Ensure savings for the site are validated with financial controls.
• Develop productivity management tools within the region for measurement and monitoring.
• Support Excellence levels from Blue to Gold.
• Create SOPs and ensure sustainability of processes KPI-driven.
• Work with Regional Black Belt to coach Yellow and Green Belts.
• Some travel for training and classes.

In this role, you will utilize Lean Six Sigma Knowledge for continuous improvement project execution. The Continuous Improvement Green Belt is the most active promoter of the continuous improvement culture across the site locally.

How you create impact

You will manage the site's Continuous Improvement (CI) program for quality and productivity, including the management of Kaizen activities and Lean Six projects

Support in testing, evaluating and introducing new technologies in the field of contract logistics

Align projects and CI activity to meet both Production System Savings targets and the region's productivity improvement targets

Present project portfolios resulting from the Value Stream Analysis activity

Communication with customers and suppliers as well as planning and calculation of value-added services at the customer's request

Ensure savings for the site are validated with financial controllers and data integrity is maintained

You will support the development of productivity management tools within the region to ensure measurement and monitoring of productivity at process and site levels

Support operations in the development of Kuehne and Nagel Excellence levels in the region from Blue through Gold

Creation of SOPs and control of the sustainability of processes based on KPIs

You will work with the Regional Black Belt in the development and coaching of the Lean Six Sigma Yellow and Green Belts

Some travel will be necessary from time to time for training and classes

What we would like you to bring

Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience

Continuous Improvement experience for 3 - 5 years

5 years in a Warehousing environment

Project Management experience of 2- 5 years

Lean Six Green Belt

Ability to travel for training and classes as needed

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
