Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel seeks a Continuous Improvement Black Belt to design, manage, and optimize CI projects in our Kentucky warehousing site. You will lead Kaizen events, Lean Six initiatives, and value-stream work to improve quality and productivity across operations.

Ideal candidates bring a 5–10 year warehousing background, Lean Six Black Belt, and strong PM skills. The role emphasizes process leadership over people leadership, with US work authorization required.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Lean Six Black Belt required.
  • 5–10 years of Continuous Improvement experience.
  • 5–10 years in a Warehousing environment.
  • 2–5 years of Project Management experience.
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship; US work authorization required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the site's Continuous Improvement (CI) program for quality and productivity, including Kaizen activities and Lean Six projects.
  • Present project portfolios resulting from Value Stream Analysis.
  • Align CI activity with Production System Savings targets and productivity goals.
  • Ensure site savings are validated with financial controllers and data integrity is maintained.
  • Develop productivity management tools to measure and monitor productivity at process and site levels.
  • Support development of Kuehne+Nagel Excellence levels from Blue to Gold.
  • Collaborate with the National MBB to coach Lean Six Sigma Yellow and Green Belts.

In this role, you will utilize Lean Six Sigma Knowledge for continuous improvement project execution. The Continuous Improvement Black Belt is the most active promoter of the continuous improvement culture across the site. The right candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset and a tendency towards 5S in the workplace.

How you create impact
  • You will manage the site's Continuous Improvement (CI) program for quality and productivity, including the management of Kaizen activities and Lean Six projects
  • Present project portfolios resulting from the Value Stream Analysis activity
  • Align projects and CI activity to meet both Production System Savings targets and the site's productivity improvement targets.
  • Ensure savings for the site are validated with financial controllers and data integrity is maintained
  • You will support the development of productivity management tools within the site to ensure measurement and monitoring of productivity at process and site levels
  • Support operations in the development of Kuehne and Nagel Excellence levels in the site from Blue through Gold
  • You will work with the National MBB in the development and coaching of the Lean Six Sigma Yellow and Green Belts
  • This position is a leader of process not a people leader role
What we would like you to bring
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • Lean Six Black Belt
  • Continuous Improvement experience for 5 -10 years
  • 5-10 years in a Warehousing environment
  • Project Management experience for 2- 5 years
