Job summary

Knowles Precision Devices in Liberty, SC seeks a Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive Lean and operational excellence throughout manufacturing, reducing waste and variation while quantifying gains. You will lead improvement projects, train staff, and sustain results with the Operations Manager and leadership team.

The role requires 2+ years in engineering, plus experience with 5S, Kanban, TPM, Kaizen, AutoCAD/SolidWorks, and MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in engineering-related areas such as Maintenance, Production, or Quality.

Responsibilities

  • Implement system to identify and solve problems involving all personnel.
  • Apply Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Support leadership team in creating employee engagement in the improvement process.
  • Lead, prepare, follow up, and close Continuous Improvement projects and events.
  • Train all employees in tools used for improvement, including 5S, Lean manufacturing, SMED, Poka Yoke, Kaizen, TPM, Kanban, Standard Work, Value Stream Analysis.
  • Quantify and report results of improvement events.
  • Develop and maintain the annual Improvement Plan; gather input from Area Managers.
  • Report monthly results, generate follow‑up actions, and present findings to corporate.
  • Manage Rapid Improvement Events (RIE) such as CFC, Kaizen Blitz, TPM implementation, Kanban, Quick Changeover.
  • Create and update training support materials.
  • Design layouts according to lean manufacturing techniques and safety standards.
  • Perform process capability and installed capacity analysis.
  • Monitor and sustain scrap reduction results.
  • Implement Tier 2 boards.
  • Participate in Management Gemba board and validate measurement methods with Finance.

Continuous Improvement Engineer

Location: Liberty, SC

Compensation: $90,000 to $110,000 per year (base pay). Additional benefits as described.

Position Overview

Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, variation, and overburden on people and processes, support employee engagement, lead improvement projects, train employees, and quantify results.
