Job summary

Hunter Engineering Company is seeking a Continuous Improvement Co-Op for a Spring 2027 term in Durant, MS. You will join cross-functional teams to enhance the Kanban system and drive more consistent production rates.

This role offers hands-on experience with Kaizen events, 6S activities, and value stream mapping, while developing professional skills using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Minimum 2.5 GPA and majors in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Mechanical Engineering required.

Qualifications

• GPA minimum 2.5 required (see resume).
• Majors include Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work on teams to improve Kanban System for more consistent production rates.
• Participate in Kaizen Events to reduce inefficiencies and boost morale.
• Lead 6S organizational events to improve workspace organization.
• Participate in Value Stream Mapping Events to identify future improvements.

As a Continuous Improvement Co-Op, you will work on teams to improve Kanban System to achieve more consistent production rates.

This position is for a Spring 2027 Co-Op, with a start date of January 2027 and an end date of May 2027.

What You’ll Do:

• Work on teams to improve Kanban System to achieve more consistent production rates.
• Participate in multiple Kaizen Events to reduce inefficiencies and improve employee morale.
• Lead 6S organizational events help employees better organize their work areas.
• Participate in Value Stream Mapping Events to identify opportunities to drive future improvements.

What You’ll Bring:

• Minimum 2.5 GPA (must be on resume)
• Major study in:

  • Industrial Technology
  • Mechanical Engineering
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
