Job summary

Hunter Engineering Company in Raymond, MS is offering a Spring 2027 Computer Engineering Co-Op to gain real-world experience at a global leader in automotive service equipment. You will monitor manufacturing equipment performance, collect and analyze data, and contribute to DOE and continuous improvement projects.

You’ll develop small software tools for data collection, dashboards for process monitoring, and simple test fixtures to aid production and validation.

Qualifications

  • Sophomore, junior, or senior interested in computer engineering.
  • 3.0 GPA or greater.
  • Experience with C#, Azure, Java, Python.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring SMT, AOI, SPI and Selective solder equipment for performance issues.
  • Help engineers collect and analyze production data (defects, cycle times, yields).
  • Participate in Design of Experiments (DOE) and continuous improvements projects.
  • Develop or maintain small software tools / scripts (Python, C) for data collection, reporting, and automation.
  • Support integration of shop-floor equipment with IFS systems.
  • Assist in building dashboards for process monitoring, quality tracking, and engineering reporting.
  • Assist in developing test jigs, fixtures, or simple PCBs to aid production and validation.
  • Hands-on experience with PCB assembly processes and test methodologies.
  • Understanding the interaction of hardware, software, and manufacturing systems.
  • Build practical skills in data analysis, automation, and process improvement.
  • Experience the engineering problem-solving cycle from defect discovery to solution implementation.

As a Computer Engineering Co-Op, you will focus on solutions that enhance quality, traceability, and automation across the facility. Our goal is to provide an experience that will be an important, effective first step in the career of a future software engineer.

This position is for a Spring 2027 Co-Op, with a start date of January 2027 and an end date of May 2027.
