Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in HR, Education, Organizational Development, Business, Industrial Technology, or related field (equivalent manufacturing exp considered).
  • 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, training, learning and development, operations leadership, quality systems, or related environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop training plans and curricula.
  • Maintain training schedules.
  • Track completion and compliance.
  • Maintain training records and ensure audit readiness.
  • Coordinate onboarding programs and 30/60/90-day reviews.
  • Conduct proficiency evaluations and monitor trainee progress.
  • Facilitate in-classroom training for new hires.
  • Train-the-trainer programs and evaluate trainer effectiveness.
  • Support Lean initiatives and CI teams.
  • Develop best practices and SWIs.
  • Ensure GMP, SQF, HACCP awareness, and OSHA fundamentals.

Education

Bachelor's degree in HR, Education, Organizational Development, Business, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred. Equivalent education and manufacturing experience considered

Description

The CSD Coordinator develops, implements, administers, and continuously improves plant training programs that support safety, quality, productivity, and employee development. This position partners with Operations, Quality, Safety, and HR leadership to ensure employees are effectively trained, qualified, and continuously developed to meet business objectives.

Success in this role may be measured through timely completion of training initiatives, employee qualification rates, onboarding effectiveness, compliance metrics, and support of operational performance goals.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary tasks and responsibilities:
Training Program Management
  • Develop training plans and curricula

  • Maintain training schedules

  • Track completion and compliance

  • Manage and maintain complete and accurate employee training records and ensure documentation is audit-ready for customer, regulatory, and internal audits

New Hire Onboarding & Qualification
  • Participate in candidate interviews

  • Coordinate onboarding programs

  • Track and maintain 30/60/90-day reviews

  • Conduct proficiency evaluations

  • Monitor trainee progress

  • Facilitate in-class room training for new hires, and as needed

Trainer Development
  • Train-the-trainer programs

  • Evaluate trainer effectiveness

  • Coach departmental trainers

Continuous Improvement
  • Support Lean initiatives

  • Participate in CI teams

  • Develop best practices and SWIs

  • Work with resources at other locations, OEMs and other vendors to develop and document best practices as needed

Compliance & Documentation
  • Maintain training documentation

  • Ensure GMP, SQF, quality and safety compliance

  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned

Decision making accountability:
  • Daily prioritization of work tasks, with the understanding that agreed-upon deadlines should be met (decisions for which prior approval should be made)

  • Scheduling training activities

  • Determining training priorities

  • Recommending process improvements

  • Evaluating training effectiveness

  • Escalating performance and compliance concerns

Working conditions:
  • This job operates in a manufacturing environment

  • Flexibility in work schedule, may include day and night shift schedule

  • Upholds all ethical standards associated with safety, quality and food safety policies and procedures within the facility, including the ProAmpac Code of Conduct and Values

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines

  • Ability to stand and walk on the production floor for extended periods, climb stairs, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds

  • This position will have exposure to hazards such as dust, high noise levels, solvent fumes, and medium heat

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Education / professional background
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Education, Organizational Development, Business, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred. Equivalent education and manufacturing experience considered

  • 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing, training, learning and development, operations leadership, quality systems, or a related environment preferred

  • Experience maintaining training records and Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Must be adept at creating highly effective presentations

  • Experience coaching and mentoring

  • Experience influencing without authority

  • Experience in conflict resolution

  • Experience in change management

  • Experience in GMP, SQF, HACCP Awareness, Food Safety Culture, and OSHA Fundamentals

  • Capacity to work independently and in team settings with concentration on the goal and common good

  • CPT Accreditation, or willing to obtain

  • Willingness to learn all departments and machinery

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and to multitask

  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills

  • Proven track record of curriculum design, presentation design and facilitation/delivery experience

  • In-depth knowledge of training in adult education techniques

  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills
