Job summary

Bill Howe Plumbing, Heating & Air, Restoration & Flood in San Diego is seeking a Restoration Technician to support property recovery efforts and protect customers' belongings. You will carefully pack out items, log inventory, assist with equipment setup, and prepare contents for secure storage.

You will also clean and deodorize spaces affected by water, smoke or mold, while following established protocols and health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Clean driving record and valid license.
• Experience in restoration, cleaning, or contents handling is a plus.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items (50+ lbs).
• Comfort working in environments with smoke, water, mold or fire damage with PPE.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Team player with ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• IICRC FSRT/WRT certification is a plus.

Job description

• Carefully pack out personal belongings, furniture, and household items from affected properties.


• Inventory and log items using digital inventory-tracking systems to ensure accurate documentation.


• Assist with the setup and breakdown of emergency restoration equipment as needed.


• Prepare contents for secure storage, ensuring proper labeling and organization.


• Load and unload household goods for transport and storage.

Cleaning and Deodorization:

• Clean and restore personal belongings and household contents impacted by water, fire, smoke, or mold.


• Perform high-detail cleaning of both contents and interior structures as needed.


• Use specialized equipment and chemicals to complete cleaning and deodorization tasks effectively and safely.


• Follow established restoration protocols and company procedures to ensure quality and consistency in service.

Qualifications

• Clean driving record and valid drivers license


• Previous experience in restoration, cleaning, or contents handling is a plus.


• Ability to lift and carry heavy items (50+ lbs) and work in physically demanding environments.


• Comfortable working in environments impacted by smoke, water, mold, or fire damage (PPE provided).


• Strong organizational and communication skills.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and adapt to changing priorities.


• Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred.


• IICRC certification in Fire and Smoke Restoration (FSRT), Water Damage Restoration (WRT), or similar is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting required.


• Exposure to restoration job site environments which may include water, mold, smoke, debris, and tight spaces.


• PPE and safety training provided.


• May be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights.
