Job summary

Dayspring Restoration in Butte, MT is seeking a Contents Restoration Technician to join our team. The role focuses on packing out personal property, detailed inventories with handheld devices, and cleaning tasks to restore contents and structures after disasters.

The candidate will perform inventory management, loading/unloading, and daily use of cleaning products while adhering to safety protocols. Travel within Montana is required; on-call rotation applies and benefits include 401k, HSA/FSA,

Qualifications

  • Experience in moving, storage, or restoration services preferred.
  • Experience in packing, inventory management, or customer service is an asset.
  • Experience in disaster recovery, construction, or warehouse settings beneficial.
  • Ability to work in a team or independently.
  • Basic computer/tablet skills.
  • Certifications or training in logistics, restoration, or moving services is a plus.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Valid Driving License and pass a MVR check.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize handheld electronic devices to complete full inventories of customers' contents.
  • Complete pack backs and resets of all contents.
  • Load and unload contents onto trucks with safe handling.
  • Provide structure cleaning after fire losses or other disasters.
  • Perform post-construction cleaning to prepare homes for occupancy.

  • Maintain a clean and safe job site at all times.
  • Work in team environments and independently to complete tasks.

Summary:

The Contents Restoration Technician plays a critical role in providing disaster recovery services to residential and commercial clients. This position focuses on packing out personal property, conducting detailed inventories using smart cellular phones, and performing various cleaning tasks to restore contents and structures after disasters. The technician must adhere to company policies and procedures while ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilize handheld electronic devices to complete full inventories of customers' contents, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Complete pack backs and resets of all contents, including frequent lifting, carrying, and placing boxes of belongings.
  • Load and unload contents onto trucks, ensuring safe handling and organization.
  • Provide structure cleaning services after fire losses or other types of disasters.
  • Perform post-construction cleaning to prepare homes for occupancy, following established procedures.
  • Conduct thorough cleaning of smoke residue from contents and structures using professional methods.
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site at all times, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Work effectively in team environments and independently to complete assigned tasks.
  • Utilize computer software programs for inventory management and communication purposes.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for one week every month to address emergency situations.
  • Travel to other company locations and job sites in Montana, with expenses covered by the company.
  • Perform weekly cleaning of the shop and offices to maintain cleanliness and organization.
  • Follow all assigned work orders and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Use cleaning, deodorization, and antimicrobial products daily to restore contents and structures.
Requirements:
  • Experience in moving, storage, or restoration services is preferred.
  • Prior experience in packing, inventory management, or customer service is an asset.
  • Experience working in environments like disaster recovery, construction, or warehouse settings is beneficial.
  • Work within a team, or independently.
  • Basic computer/tablet skills
  • Certifications or training in logistics, restoration, or moving services is a plus.
  • The role requires using hands and fingers for detailed tasks such as packing fragile items, labeling boxes, and organizing inventory.
  • Valid Driving License and pass a MVR check
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen
Travel Requirements:
  • Must be willing and able to travel throughout the state as needed. Travel may include overnight stays based on project schedules, customer needs, and business demands.
Working Conditions:
  • Work in environments that may be dirty, wet, or hazardous, requiring adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work in dirty and/or wet conditions as needed, maintaining a focus on safety and cleanliness.
  • Handle cleaning, deodorization, and antimicrobial products daily, ensuring proper safety precautions are followed.
  • Wear work-appropriate shoes and PPE as required for job site conditions.
  • Be prepared for occasional overtime to meet project deadlines and respond to emergency situations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lift and carry heavy items (up to 50-75 pounds) such as furniture, boxes, and other contents; may require moving large or awkward objects that need to be handled with care.
  • Utilize proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
  • Use hands and fingers with precision to pack fragile items, label boxes, and operate electronic inventory devices.
  • Move throughout job sites, including climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods, often on uneven or slippery surfaces.
  • Maintain physical stamina for repetitive tasks, heavy lifting, and manual labor throughout shifts, including during emergency call-outs and overtime.
Salary:

$18.00-$23.00 DOE plus overtime and on-call bonus

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30 plus rotating on-call schedule
