Position Overview

A successful Contents Cleaning Technician inspects, packs, cleans, and performs inventory for contents affected by water or fire damage, primarily soot. The technician prepares and reviews documentation, including notes, photos, and reports, to ensure proper reimbursement from insurance companies. They also explain processes and next steps to customers in person.

Job Responsibilities

1. Retrieve work orders, ensure necessary equipment and supplies are loaded, and arrive at the work site, with many tasks performed at the shop.
2. Explain the process and next steps to customers using printed materials, with or without supervisor assistance.
3. Complete assigned jobs following company procedures while maintaining quality and urgency.
4. Perform fire/smoke damage repairs, including pack-out of contents, disposal of non-salvageable items, and careful cleaning of items, especially breakables.
5. Handle equipment, supplies, vehicles, and products properly; report malfunctions or damages.
6. Inspect completed jobs, obtain customer signatures, and request payments as needed.
7. Resolve customer issues, communicate daily activities with supervisors and staff.
8. Document jobs with photos and notes following company policies to ensure insurance reimbursement.

Job Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Experience in restoration or construction preferred but not required.
3. Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record preferred.
4. Good verbal and written communication skills.
5. Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
6. Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and use mobile devices for data entry.
7. Punctuality and proper uniform adherence.
8. Ability to read and follow product labels accurately.
9. Attention to detail in describing household products.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Employees may need to lift up to 30 pounds, stand, walk, squat, and perform physical tasks. Safety equipment like respirators must fit properly. Work environment includes inside and outside conditions with varying temperatures.

Compensation: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
