Job summary

NOVA is seeking a Content Tutor – Physical Therapy Assistant to help students in healthcare subjects through targeted instruction and study-skills coaching. You will support both individual learners and small groups, aligning tutoring strategies with faculty resources and center objectives.

Ideal candidates bring tutoring experience and a PT-related background, with ability to use common software tools and adapt to a diverse student body.

Qualifications

  • Experience with one-on-one and/or group tutoring.
  • Experience as a physical therapist assistant.
  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy (DPT) program.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

  • Provide tutoring assistance to students as needed.
  • Assist ASC Manager in forming specialized study groups as needed.
  • Assign software programs to assist students in various programs.
  • Distribute information leading to academic improvement.
  • Consult with faculty regarding center’s resources.
  • Research current list of useful Internet resources for student and faculty use.
  • Collaborate with Tutoring Services Coordinator and faculty to provide optimal services.
  • Provide tutoring services orientation for any willing faculty member.

CONTENT TUTOR – PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

General Description

The Content Tutor: Physical Therapy Assistant cooperatively assist students with various healthcare subjects including but not limited to math, sciences, and writing (as feasible) through instruction and implementing study skills.

Duties and Tasks
  • Provide tutoring assistance to students as needed
  • Assist ASC Manager in forming specialized study groups as need arises
  • Assign software programs to assist students in various academic programs
  • Distribute information leading to academic improvement
  • Consult with faculty regarding center’s resources
  • Research current list of useful Internet resources for student and faculty use
  • Work closely with Tutoring Services Coordinator, academic discipline faculty and staff, and Student Services faculty and staff to provide optimal services to students
  • Provide tutoring services orientation for any willing faculty member

Minimum Qualifications
