About CarBahn
CarBahn develops performance software, hardware, and engines, alongside automotive service and installation. Across our R&D, Service, and Engine operations, there are stories worth telling every day: a new tune on the dyno, an engine taking shape, a customer build coming together, or an engineer explaining what makes a product work. We’re looking for someone who can recognize those stories and turn them into content enthusiasts want to watch, share, and act on.
The Role
The Content & Social Media Manager owns CarBahn’s social media program. They decide what’s worth telling to getting it filmed, edited, published, and measured.
This is a hands-on creative role with responsibility for both content production and social media management. You’ll spend time in our shops, work directly with technicians and engineers, and create original automotive content for Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and other relevant channels.
You’ll also build creator relationships and develop the content and social presence surrounding product launches, shop events, enthusiast gatherings, and industry events such as SEMA, BimmerInvasion, and other local shows.
We want someone who understands tuner culture and has a passion for cars. He or she has strong creative instincts, and can build momentum without waiting for every idea or assignment to come from management.
What You’ll Own
Original Content & Video Production
- Plan, shoot, and edit original video and photography across CarBahn’s R&D, Service, and Engine operations.
- Create short-form videos, product features, build stories, customer spotlights, technical explainers, and behind-the-scenes content.
- Produce YouTube videos from concept through publication, including story development, shot lists, interviews, editing, audio, thumbnails, and titles.
- Translate technical information into accurate, engaging content that enthusiasts can understand.
- Develop repeatable content series that give audiences a reason to return.
- Build and maintain an organized library of footage, photography, and finished assets.
- Own the social media calendar and maintain a consistent publishing cadence across all three business areas.
- Develop platform-specific content and a recognizable CarBahn voice.
- Manage publishing, captions, community engagement, and social inquiries, coordinating with Sales and Technical Support when needed.
- Identify relevant trends and creative opportunities that fit the brand.
- Review performance regularly, test new formats, and use results to improve content and distribution.
- Connect social activity to product launches, customer interest, website traffic, and broader sales and marketing priorities.
- Build excitement around CarBahn products, performance results, customer builds, and engineering expertise.
- Identify and develop relationships with relevant automotive creators, influencers, customers, and enthusiast communities.
- Coordinate collaborations, product features, shop visits, and content partnerships.
- Set clear deliverables and evaluate partnership results.
- Secure necessary content permissions and follow brand and approval standards.
Events & On-Site Coverage
- Plan content and social campaigns before, during, and after shop events, car meets, conferences, and trade shows.
- Capture timely event footage, interviews, product demonstrations, and enthusiast reactions.
- Coordinate creator participation and content opportunities.
- Work with internal teams on event execution, with primary responsibility for marketing, audience engagement, and coverage. Broader event logistics will be supported by other team members.
Process & Ownership
- Establish an efficient workflow for planning, capture, editing, review, and publishing.
- Coordinate with shop teams to capture meaningful work while respecting operational schedules.
- Manage multiple projects and communicate priorities, deadlines, and production needs.
- Own day-to-day execution.
- Maintain accuracy, quality, and sound judgment in everything published under the CarBahn brand.
What You Bring
- Experience independently managing social channels for a brand, business, or established creator.
- The ability to shoot and edit both short-form content and longer YouTube videos.
- Proficiency with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro.
- Working knowledge of camera equipment, lighting, audio, photography, and mobile content capture.
- An understanding of social platforms, audience behavior, analytics, and content packaging.
- A strong interest in performance cars and tuner culture, with the curiosity to learn technical details.
- Strong organization, communication, and follow-through.
- The initiative to find stories, propose ideas, and get content made.
- Availability for regular on-site content capture in the San Jose/Bay Area, occasional travel, and some evening or weekend events.
BMW knowledge, influencer partnership experience, and demonstrated channel growth are strong advantages. Relevant work and a compelling portfolio matter more than a specific degree.
What Success Looks Like
- A dependable flow of original content representing R&D, Service, and Engines.
- A distinctive social presence that builds enthusiasm and trust in CarBahn.
- Improved audience engagement, sharing, repeat viewership, and qualified website traffic.
- YouTube content with strong storytelling, effective packaging, and improving viewer retention.
- Creator partnerships and events that generate valuable content and customer interest.
- An organized social program that moves forward with clear ownership and minimal daily direction.
