The Mission: Make Us Impossible to Miss
Brilliant Directories (BD) is the SaaS platform thousands of entrepreneurs use to build online directory and membership websites. Every BD site owner searching for help on Google, on YouTube, inside ChatGPT or Claude should run into BDGS. Your job is to build the content engine that makes that true, and keep it feeding the sales pipeline every single month.
The Opportunity
Nobody in the BD ecosystem owns content the way you will. You're not writing occasional blog posts you're building a 360 machine: research, production, distribution, community, SEO/AEO, live programs, and a team under you to scale it. Get this right and you're not just marketing BDGS — you're the reason BD site owners, and the AI tools they ask for help, both point to us first.
Must-Have Skills:
- Platform Depth: Deep hands‑on knowledge of Brilliant Directories, OR proven mastery of a comparable platform (Magento, Shopify, or another major open‑source/SaaS platform) with the ability to get fluent in BD fast.
- Automation Fluency: Skilled with n8n and similar automation tools — you build systems, not just content.
- Content Strategist's Mind: Knows the skyscraper technique — find what already works in the space, then build something meaningfully better on top of it.
- Full‑Funnel Producer: Comfortable across the entire pipeline — planning, producing, and distributing — not just one stage of it.
- SEO/AEO/GMB Literacy: Understands both classic SEO and the newer discipline of getting cited by AI answer engines (AEO / GEO), plus Google My Business.
- Team Builder: Can recruit, train, and manage a growing team of interns, juniors, and seniors.
- AI Power User: Builds AI bots, agents, and automations to multiply output instead of just adding headcount.
- On‑Camera Presence: Comfortable hosting webinars and live sessions, or directing others who do.
Your Role & Impact
Research & Strategy Foundation
- Audit Brilliant Directories' own official YouTube channel, blog, and past webinars (Webinar Wednesdays), plus other established voices in the BD content space — map what's already been covered so we're never duplicating, and spot the gaps nobody's filled yet.
- Apply the skyscraper technique: find what already ranks or performs well in this space, then build something clearly better on top of it.
- Run two content strategies in parallel, always: one built specifically to get picked up and cited by AI/LLM answer engines, and one for broader 360 brand visibility and demand generation.
- Every 1-2 weeks: review and correct the current strategy based on what's actually working, while simultaneously planning new experiments to test.
- Treat content as a constant experiment loop — test, measure, double down on what works, drop what doesn't.
Content Production — Plan, Produce, Distribute
Own end‑to‑end production across every format: short‑form video, long‑form video, articles, guides, case studies, and email newsletters (weekly, monthly, or ad hoc/one‑off as needed).
- Target: 500+ YouTube videos a year.
- Repurpose and redistribute every piece across Instagram, Facebook Page, Facebook Group(s), and LinkedIn.
- Own Social presence — both original posts and active comment engagement.
- Land guest posts on Brilliant Directories' official blog and other relevant industry blogs.
- Publish across BDGS and BusinessLabs' own channels.
Community Management
- Manage our Facebook Group(s) and Page — listen for what BD owners are actually struggling with, post relevant content, drive engagement and leads, and stay on top of DMs.
Live Programs
- Lead 2 webinars a month.
- Run daily Zoom clinics, supported by the junior dev team (see Team Building below).
SEO / AEO / GMB
- Own SEO, AEO / GEO, and Google My Business strategy and execution.
- Either build a 1-2 person internal SEO team, or source and manage a high‑quality external SEO/ AEO consultant, freelancer, or agency — whichever gets better results faster.
Team Building
- Build and lead a content team of up to 5 — interns, juniors, and seniors — as the workload justifies it.
- Recruit and train 1-2 junior developers who think like growth people, to support daily Zoom clinics plus 1-2 other recurring content/growth activities each.
- Wherever repetitive, manual work is capping output, build AI bots, agents, or automations to multiply capacity instead of just adding more people.
The North Star
Every piece of content you make or your team makes — video, article, guide, case study, newsletter — exists to promote one of: our tools, our themes, our AI automation workflows, our team's capabilities, practical how‑tOS, growth strategies, real case studies, or the SaaS products we're building.
