Primary focus

End-to-end ownership of client content and learning delivery

About RockED

RockED is reinventing professional development for the retail automotive industry through highly engaging, app-based microlearning. We create practical learning experiences that help frontline automotive professionals build confidence, strengthen performance, and apply new skills on the job.

Role Overview

As a Content Manager, you will lead assigned client content from discovery and kickoff through strategy, development, production, approval, launch, and ongoing partnership. Serving as the primary content partner for assigned clients, you will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to keep projects aligned, moving, and on time and within scope. Leveraging your expertise in instructional design, content strategy, project ownership, and production coordination, you will create cohesive and impactful learning experiences for frontline retail automotive associates. You will plan, design, develop, and test microlearning videos, interactive learning experiences, and other engaging learning assets. You will also refine RockED’s content development and quality-control processes to deliver best-in-class training solutions that drive measurable performance improvement. This role reports to the Senior Director, Learning Content.

Key Responsibilities

Client and Content Ownership

  • Serve as the primary content contact for assigned clients, accounts, and projects, building trusted relationships and a clear, responsive client experience.

  • Lead content engagements from discovery and kickoff through development, review, approval, launch, and ongoing optimization.

  • Develop a strong understanding of each client’s business, audience, brand, subject matter, performance goals, and learning needs.

  • Guide clients toward the right content strategy, format, sequence, level of interactivity, and measurement approach.

  • Set and manage expectations for scope, deliverables, timelines, review cycles, responsibilities, approvals, and next steps.

  • Communicate progress, decisions, risks, and changes proactively; make informed day-to-day content decisions and elevate strategic issues when needed.

  • Maintain continuity across the client relationship and identify opportunities to refresh, improve, expand, or streamline content.

Learning Strategy, Design, and Development

  • Conduct learning‑needs analysis with clients, subject‑matter experts, and internal stakeholders to define the audience, performance need, measurable learning objectives, requirements, and recommended solution.

  • Research and validate relevant, actionable automotive and industry practices in partnership with subject‑matter experts.

  • Translate complex or incomplete information into clear content plans, learning journeys, scripts, storyboards, assessments, and digital learning experiences.

  • Apply adult learning principles, learning science, and instructional design approaches such as ADDIE or SAM based on project needs.

  • Develop, build, edit, and review microlearning, interactive learning, certifications, video scripts, assessments, and other digital learning content, including hands‑on development in Articulate 360 when required.

  • Design realistic practice activities, branched scenarios, role‑play experiences, reinforcement, assessments, and knowledge checks aligned with learning objectives.

  • Determine the appropriate mix of video, graphics, written content, interaction, practice, and assessment.

  • Ensure learning experiences are clear, concise, engaging, accurate, accessible, learner‑centered, and aligned with the client’s brand and goals.

Project, Production, and Delivery

  • Own the content workstream and day‑to‑day delivery of assigned projects, including project plans, milestones, dependencies, review cycles, revision rounds, approvals, and delivery dates.

  • Coordinate the people, resources, and inputs required across instructional design, writing, subject‑matter expertise, talent, video production, editing, graphics, interactive development, platform deployment, and client review.

  • Provide contributors with clear briefs, source materials, assets, decisions, feedback, and approvals before work begins.

  • Track deliverables, identify blockers early, and drive follow‑through across internal teams, external partners, and clients.

  • Consolidate client and internal feedback into clear, prioritized, actionable direction.

  • Collaborate with creative and production teams to translate learning objectives and scripts into effective video and multimedia experiences.

  • Prepare for and support video shoots as needed, including script preparation, content continuity, talent or interview preparation, and learning‑quality review.

  • Support final delivery, platform handoff, launch readiness, documentation, and post‑launch follow‑up.

Quality, Measurement, and Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain a high quality bar across both the final learning experience and the complete client experience.

  • Ensure deliverables meet the approved strategy, learning objectives, creative direction, brand standards, timeline, and scope.

  • Conduct thorough reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure training materials meet established standards and specifications

  • Identify out‑of‑scope requests and coordinate evaluation, tradeoffs, and next steps before additional work begins.

  • Evaluate learning effectiveness using assessments, learner feedback, engagement data, and available performance measures.

  • Use client, learner, and delivery insights to improve current content and inform future solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with the Kirkpatrick Model and scenario‑based, branched, role‑play, or practice‑oriented learning.

  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud tools, Captivate, Figma, Canva, SCORM, xAPI, digital accessibility standards, or comparable learning technologies.

  • Experience with AI‑assisted content creation, avatar or synthetic‑media tools, and emerging learning technologies.

  • Familiarity with video production, post‑production, motion graphics, and multimedia review workflows; professional editing or design expertise is not required.

  • Experience in edtech, consumer learning, SaaS, automotive retail, or another client‑driven digital‑content environment.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal Content Manager is both strategic and hands‑on. They can lead a client conversation, uncover the learning need behind a request, develop or guide the content, organize the work required to deliver it, and maintain a high quality bar through completion.

They are curious, collaborative, organized, and adaptable. They manage multiple projects and stakeholders without losing sight of the learner or client experience, communicate clearly, anticipate problems, make thoughtful decisions, and know when to escalate an issue.

What Success Looks Like

Clients know who to contact, internal contributors understand their responsibilities, and projects remain organized and moving. Decisions and feedback become action, risks are surfaced early, learning experiences are thoughtfully designed and evaluated, and final content meets the client’s goals, supports the learner, and reflects RockED’s quality standards.

Most importantly, the Content Manager owns the outcome, the content decisions, and the relationship required to deliver successful work—not simply the tasks.
