Job summary

Commonpoint seeks a Content Specialist to lead curriculum development and coaching across afterschool programs in our New York area. You will work with the Program Director to ensure DYCD-aligned content, inclusive practices, and high-quality learning experiences for diverse youth participants.

Responsibilities include coaching staff, monitoring instructional quality, and coordinating inclusion supports. This role emphasizes collaboration, data-informed improvements, and strong communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Social Work, Child Development, Psychology, or related field.
  • Experience in curriculum development, instructional coaching, and inclusive programming.
  • Knowledge of SEL, trauma-informed practices, and differentiated instruction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and data management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead curriculum selection and alignment with DYCD requirements and program standards.
  • Observe staff and coach instructional practices, classroom management, and participation.
  • Monitor instructional quality through observations, feedback, and data.
  • Provide professional development and coaching to strengthen staff performance.
  • Support inclusion coordination and participant accommodations in collaboration with the Program Director.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in CQI activities.
