Job summary

Commonpoint is seeking a Content Specialist to lead curriculum development, instructional coaching, professional development, and inclusive instructional practices across afterschool programs. Reporting to the Program Director, the role ensures alignment with DYCD requirements and school-day priorities while serving as the Inclusion Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in curriculum development, instructional coaching, youth development, education, or inclusive programming.
  • Experience leading staff development and instructional leadership.
  • Knowledge of SEL, trauma-informed practices, and inclusive programming.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and online data management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead curriculum selection, lesson planning, and alignment with required content areas and Commonpoint standards.
  • Observe staff and provide coaching on instructional practices and participant engagement.
  • Monitor instructional quality through observations and data to support improvement.
  • Coach staff on differentiated instruction, inclusive practices, and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Support staff development and onboarding across program sites.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, or related field
New York State Teaching Certification (preferred)
