Job description

The San Juan Bay Estuary Partnership (Estuario) is seeking to hire a Content Editor to document a series of public engagement workshops as part of the revision of the Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP). The CCMP is the guiding strategic framework for Estuario, establishing the long‑term priorities and actions needed to protect, restore, and sustainably manage the San Juan Bay Estuary and its watershed. As this plan is updated, public participation is essential to ensure that its actions reflect current environmental challenges, community needs, and shared priorities across sectors.

As a requirement under the EPA guidelines for CCMP Revisions, a 60‑day public review process is needed. Responses to comments should be summarized and made publicly available. Through the public engagement workshops, Estuario aims to present the proposed action plans and create meaningful opportunities for stakeholders and community members to provide input during the public comment period. The Content Editor will be responsible for documenting the discussions, organizing public input, and preparing the summary of comments and responses to upload onto the website.

This work will directly contribute to strengthening the CCMP revision process by ensuring that community and stakeholder feedback is effectively captured, synthesized, and integrated. The Content Editor will ensure that feedback is effectively captured and contributes to strengthening the updated CCMP.

The Corporation for the Conservation of the San Juan Bay Estuary is a 501(c)3 non‑profit organization that operates the Estuario. Established in 1994, we are the only tropical and non‑continental location within the National Estuary Program (NEP) under Section 320 of the Clean Water Act. Responsibilities

• Document workshop proceedings, including key discussions, insights, and participant input
• Collect and organize comments, recommendations, and other qualitative data from participants
• Coordinate and manage data collection tools (e.g., forms, surveys, sign‑in sheets, digital inputs)
• Synthesize information and prepare clear, structured summaries following each workshop
• Prepare documents that summarize public comments and Estuario responses that will be uploaded onto the Estuario.org website
• Support the integration of collected input into the broader CCMP revision process as needed

Required Qualifications (Education and Experience)

• Bachelor’s degree required (preferred fields: Environmental Studies, Planning, Social Sciences, Public Policy, or related disciplines).
• Experience documenting public meetings, workshops, or stakeholder engagement processes.
• Experience using digital tools for data collection and synthesis (e.g., forms, surveys, collaborative platforms).
• Strong writing, analytical, and synthesis skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively and engage with diverse audiences.
• Availability to attend in‑person workshops across the San Juan Bay Estuary region.
