Amentum is seeking a Level 1 Content Developer to research, validate, and update mission/technical content for training courses. You will provide SME inputs to ensure technical alignment and work with instructional designers and graphics teams to reflect proper content and lab behavior.

Responsibilities include drafting procedures, updating labs, and supporting assessments and rubrics while following government templates and configuration management processes.

Qualifications

  • Hands‑on cyber/IT foundation to build and troubleshoot training.
  • Instructional-design, LMS, or curriculum experience alone is not sufficient.
  • Ability to investigate unfamiliar problems using evidence and read/modify/write scripts or code.
  • Follow technical standards and meet contract and clearance requirements.

Associate's degree (or 18 semester hours of military coursework/training) in a related field
High school diploma/GED with six years of relevant experience

Job description

Responsible for researching, gathering, synthesizing, and updating the mission/technical raw content and material from which the course(s) will be built 'and maintained. Responsible for providing subject matter expert (SME) inputs to determining what testing is appropriate and ensuring technical alignment. of assessment items to course objectives when tasked; instructional design structure and psychometric validity remain responsibility of the Instructional Designer and/or Senior Instructional Testing Expert, as applicable to ensure student demonstrates required proficiency. Follows Government approved configuration control and secure handling procedures for controlled and assessment related materials. Work Schedule: The courses being supported are active from 0800-1700 M-F. Contract core hours are 1000-1400.

Essential Responsibilities

The Level 1 Content Developer shall possess the following capabilities: Gather and validate raw content appropriate for inclusion in the relevant courses. Document sources/references and assumptions for review. Review storyboards to ensure content is reflected appropriately and provide documented technical accuracy comments and disposition inputs as directed. Draft or update technical narratives, procedures, and lab/exercise instructions using Government-approved templates/tools as directed. Provide SME clarification to Instructional Designers and Graphic Artists to ensure course content reflects technical intent and correct tool/tradecraft behavior. Assist in drafting or updating assessment questions/items and rubrics when tasked, ensuring student-facing materials do not contain answer keys or restricted solutions. Coordinate submission of updated content to Configuration Management (CM) repositories and support versioning/release note inputs as directed. Certifications in areas relevant to the training content areas are desired. Research assigned cyber content; build/configure/modify/troubleshoot systems, VMs, networks, scripts, tools, and artifacts used in training/assessment. Draft/update technical procedures, labs, demonstrations, practical exercises, and assessment components to team standards. Reproduce expected behavior; determine whether systems/networks/programs/exploits/artifacts behave as intended; troubleshoot using logs, pcaps, system artifacts, debugging data, documentation, and experimentation. Document dependencies, assumptions, edge cases, failure conditions, and observable artifacts affecting learners or assessment validity. Support practical assessments, answer criteria, rubrics, automated grading, and controlled exam material; provide SME input to ISD, facilitators, testing, QA/CQ, engineering, and developers. Use approved version/configuration-control workflows; complete assigned work to standard, communicate blockers/status, seek guidance as appropriate, and incorporate review feedback.

Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI preferred Minimum Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cyber Engineering, Information Systems/information Technology, Education/Instructional Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and two (2) years of relevant experience OR Associate's degree (or 18 semester hours of military coursework/training in a related field) and four (4) years of relevant experience OR High school diploma/GED and six (6) years of relevant experience Relevant experience includes mission/technical content research and development for related training, drafting/updating technical procedures/labs/exercises, and providing SME support to instructional design and course delivery Minimum Qualifications: Hands‑on cyber/IT foundation sufficient to build/troubleshoot technical training; instructional‑design, LMS, or curriculum experience alone is insufficient. Working proficiency in at least one Section 2 specialty; broad mastery is not required. Ability to investigate unfamiliar problems using evidence rather than trial‑and‑error; read/modify and, where appropriate, write relevant scripts/code; reason through execution logic and system interactions. Ability to explain behavior and convert it into accurate labs/procedures/demonstrations/practical’s; foundational understanding of relevant OS, network, virtualization, software, and cyber‑tradecraft interactions. Ability to follow technical standards, accept review, execute reliably, and meet applicable CD1 contract/clearance/education/experience requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong preference: prior operational CNO/CND experience, especially certified/formally qualified Exploitation Analyst (EA) or Interactive Operator (IO), or comparable hands‑on operational work. Desired, not required: JCAC; RIOT / Foundations / CNOQC graduate; CYBR3800 / HAMMR graduate. Also positive: relevant technical certifications, advanced cyber training, operational mission experience, and demonstrable hands‑on lab work, considered in context of the section being fill.

Compensation Details
