Amentum is seeking a Senior Software Engineer/Database Administrator to lead database design, optimization, and cloud deployments for high-availability IT systems.

You will drive capacity planning, oversee DB performance, and implement robust backup/recovery strategies while supporting complex relational databases across Linux and Windows environments.

• DBA support of SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.
• Knowledge of security requirements for databases, developing, documenting, and implementing backup and recovery procedures.
• Managing the databases for high availability.
• Experience configuring, managing and maintaining the operation of complex relational databases; familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Experience monitoring critical systems.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer/Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of software development experience with a strong background in cloud technologies and database administration.

Work Schedule: M- F 40 hours a week

Essential Responsibilities:

• Capacity planning.
• Supporting implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
• Managing IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
• Providing support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client problems.
• Performing server and storage capacity management and planning for the most complex and critical systems.
• Recommending and implementing process and tool improvements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization’s change management and configuration management processes and systems
• Managing, monitoring, and administering database system performance and schedule activities.
• Performing optimization and tuning of data loads and extractions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience interpreting data models and developing database structures; using standard diagramming techniques to design and develop computer data models; and implementing and troubleshooting programming changes and modifications.
• DBA support of SQLServer and Postgres databases
• Knowledge of security requirements for databases, developing, documenting, and implementing backup and recovery procedures.
• Managing the databases for high availability
• Experience configuring, managing and maintaining the operation of complex relational databases; familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Experience monitoring critical systems.

Technical Knowledge:

Data base management system software — Database management software; Microsoft SQL Server undefined Development environment software — C#, Microsoft Visual Basic

Clearance Required:

TS/SCI w/ Poly

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
