The Opportunity:

Duw Media is on the lookout for a creative, self-driven Content Creator & Social Media Manager to join our team on a freelance basis. If you're passionate about content shoots, editing, storytelling through visuals, and staying ahead of social media trends — we want to hear from you!

This freelance role offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in content creation, social media management, and content strategy at a boutique social media agency, with potential to grow.

The Details:

• Hybrid, must be based in Chicago for accessibility to partake in in person content creation and on site client content shoots
• Initial 1 month trial period, leading to an ongoing freelance role
• Start Date: ASAP
• Freelance/Contractor 1099 Role
• Part time commitment

What You'll Do:

As a Freelance Content Creator & Social Media Manager, you will play a vital role in Duw supporting our clients' digital media presence. Your responsibilities will include:

• Content Ideation: Brainstorming creative content ideas (copy, overlays, trends, reels/tik toks, moodboarding) aligned with client branding and strategies, client competitors, and platform best practices.
• Content Editing/Curation: Creating custom visuals aligned with brand aesthetics, editing static and video content to maintain a polished and high-quality brand look and feel, writing on brand copy aligned with client voice and branding for each post.
• Local Content Creation (Chicago-Based): Participating in onsite photo and video shoots for local clients and content needs within the Chicago area.
• Platform/Trend Research: Staying up-to-date on the latest social media trends, platform updates, and competitor activities across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
• Community Engagement: Monitoring and engaging with online communities on behalf of our clients, fostering positive interactions.
• Social Media Strategy Support: Contributing to the development and execution of overall social media strategies.
• Content Syndication & Planning: Assisting with the scheduling and distribution of content across relevant platforms via social media content calendar management.

What You'll Bring:

• Must be based in the Chicago area and have the ability to meet in person for content creation needs.
• Genuine passion for social media and digital marketing.
• Solid understanding and active experience with Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Facebook.
• Up-to-date knowledge of current social media trends, features, and best practices.
• Demonstrated experience creating engaging short-form video content for TikTok and Reels.
• Strong copywriting skills with the ability to craft concise, compelling narratives for various platforms.
• High level of creativity and a keen eye for visual content.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable access to the internet, a personal computer, and a smartphone.

Bonus Points:

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, lightroom).
• Experience with Canva.
• Experience with CapCut

Logistics:

• Contractor/Freelance Role (1099)
• Location: Primarily remote, but must be based in the Chicago area with availability for in-person meetings and content creation.
