We’re hiring a Content and Digital Experience Director at UW Medicine.
This is a distinctive leadership opportunity for someone who brings together enterprise content strategy, user experience and strong people leadership, and understands how those disciplines must evolve as search and AI reshape the way people discover and navigate healthcare.
The director will lead the team responsible for content strategy and design, UX, information architecture, SEO/GEO and discoverability for uwmedicine.org and our broader digital ecosystem. The work sits at the intersection of healthcare access, customer experience and innovation, helping people find trusted information and connect with UW Medicine across patient care, medical education and our broader academic mission.
I’m looking for a leader who can set a clear vision while also building the practical systems that make excellent work possible, including prioritization, governance, scalable workflows, measurement and sustainable team operations. Just as importantly, this person should be an experienced and thoughtful people leader who can coach a multidisciplinary team and help each discipline do its best work.
The position is primarily remote, with approximately one on-site meeting per month in Seattle.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Digital Strategy and Operations, the Director, Digital Experience leads the strategy and execution of content strategy, user experience, content design, and discoverability for UW Medicine's primary digital hub, uwmedicine.org, and connected digital channels.
This role owns the digital experience for UW Medicine’s primary platform, uwmedicine.org, and shapes how content and experiences are structured, governed, and distributed across a broader external ecosystem, including search, AI-driven discovery, social platforms, partner channels, and emerging technologies. The Director establishes a hub-and-spoke model, positioning the website as the authoritative source of truth while enabling consistent, high-quality engagement across distributed channels.
