Job summary

One River School of Art + Design is seeking a Contemporary Art Teacher for PreK–5 to lead weekly, hands-on classes in a studio setting. The role emphasizes contemporary approaches to painting, drawing, sculpture, collage, and 3D work, with a focus on making art exciting, meaningful and accessible for young creators.

Applicants should be practicing artists with at least 1 year of teaching experience, comfortable working with families, and able to adapt to a flexible schedule including afternoons,

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in art education.
• Ability to teach PreK–5 across multiple art media.
• Strong communication with families about student growth.
• Passion for contemporary art and child-centered learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead dynamic, hands-on weekly art classes for PreK–5 students.
• Classes run in weekday afternoons, evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.
• Explore contemporary approaches across painting, drawing, sculpture, collage and 3D work.
• Encourage experimentation, creative risk-taking and big imaginative thinking.
• Create WOW moments and connect with families about student growth.
