Priority Waste is hiring a Container Delivery Driver in Flint, MI to pick up and deliver containers to customer accounts. You will operate a heavy-duty truck and a Moffett forklift, performing inspections and maintaining safety standards.

The role requires a valid Chauffeur's License, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work 10–12 hour shifts, including some Saturdays. A professional demeanor and clear communication with customers and dispatch are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Performs pre and post trip inspections of truck.
  • Operates truck per OSHA/DOT and local laws.
  • Loads and unloads containers using a Moffett forklift.
  • Completes residential routes daily keeping locations clean.
  • Communicates with customers and reports incidents to Route Manager.
  • Maintains vehicle cleanliness and professional appearance.

Job Purpose

In your role as a Container Delivery Driver you will be picking up and delivering varying sizes of containers to different customers accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs pre and post trip inspections of truck
  • Operates truck in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws
  • Mounts and dismounts a heavy-duty truck many times each day
  • Operate a Moffett (forklift truck) to load and unload containers
  • Completes assigned residential route daily, leaving the customer’s location free of debris
  • Professionally communicates with customers as needed
  • Notifies Route Manager/Dispatch of any accidents, injuries, property damage, or any other incidents
  • Notifies Route Manager/Dispatch of any service interruptions such as closed lots, blocked containers, safety hazards etc
  • Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair/replacement
  • Attends training programs, briefings, and meetings as requiredCommunicates customer requests to Route Manager/Dispatch
  • Immediately communicates mechanical problems to Mechanic and Supervisor
  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicle
  • Maintains professional appearance
QualificationsCandidate Profile
  • Must possess a valid Chauffer's License
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts, including some Saturdays
  • Ability to use a tablet to receive work orders
  • Must be able to pass criminal background check, physical and DOT drug screen
  • Must have safe driving record, including no avoidable accidents in the past five years
  • Must have ability to communicate professionally with customers, dispatch and internal customer service
  • Must be able to sit, kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, balance, hear, talk and smell
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
  • May be required to work in emergency situations
