Job summary

Atlantic Region CBO is seeking a dynamic Contact Center Support to handle first-line inquiries from patients and insurers regarding patient accounts. You will resolve questions by phone or written correspondence and document responses in the system.

The role emphasizes timely communication, accuracy, and collaboration with hospital teams to ensure smooth account resolution within UHS divisions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
  • Familiarity with healthcare business office is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Handle first-line inquiries from patients or insurers by phone or written correspondence.
  • Provide timely responses and document interactions in the Patient Accounting System.
  • Resolve routine issues; escalate complex cases to management.
  • Maintain knowledge of call routing and patient accounting systems.

Responsibilities

Atlantic Region CBO

The Atlantic Region Central Billing Office(“ARCBO”) or(“CBO”) provides business office services including billing, collections, cash posting, pre-access management, variance, and customer service to our affiliated Universal Health Services hospitals.

The Atlantic Region CBO is seeking a dynamic and talented Contact Center Supprt.

The Contact Center Support is responsible for receiving and resolving first line inquiries over the phone and written correspondence concerning patient accounts by patients or insurance companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Document all internal and external inquiries concerning patient accounts including patient and third party payers.
  • Act as the first line of support to patient or third party payer contacting the facility with questions concerning an account or claim.
  • Root cause issues and attempt to resolve.
  • Document and communicate resolution as appropriate in the Patient Accounting System.
  • Escalate problem accounts to management team of department for assistance and resolution.
  • Clearly communicate resolution of issues to responsible parties and or guarantors on the account.
  • Respond within 24 hours to patient inquiry which requires research providing updates on the status or the resolution of their issue each step of the process.
  • Work with facility and internal departments of the CBO to investigate and resolve issues associated with patient or insurance company inquiries.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the call routing system and patient accounting system
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Customer focused both internally and externally, strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, strong 10 key data entry, and excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Familiarity with customer service and 1-3 years healthcare business office experience preferred.
