The Consumer Retail PR Manager will work closely with the Senior Marketing Communications Manager and key stakeholders in the Consumer Retail sector to develop and execute the PR strategy and plan. This is a part-time position, with an option to expand to full-time based on need.

How You Will Create An Impact
- Earned Speaking Opportunities for Simon-Kucher Executives in Consumer and Retail: Includes media outlet events, organization events, and conferences.
- Contribute Articles in Target Consumer and Retail Publications: Source opportunities and develop bylined articles, and support the development, research, and POV for interviews.
- Coordinate Media Mentions and Quotes: Focus on industry and tier 1 media outlets.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Write and edit thought leadership articles
- Bylines & Contributed Articles :Work with stakeholders and marketing leadership to identify "buzzworthy" topics, new hawking. Plus, edit, develop, and place articles in target publications, prioritizing top industry trades
- News Monitoring: Conduct daily monitoring to identify opportunities to insert Simon-Kucher into the news cycle.
- Media Outreach: Secure interviews for executives on studies, surveys, and research, including data and insights recommendations and pitch development.
- Identify New Opportunities: Research and recommend new opportunities, such as podcasts and book quotes.
- Journalist Vetting: Verify credentials and organizational alignment to ensure legitimacy and POV consistency.
- Campaign Planning: Work with leadership to develop a plan that drives measurable PR and campaign outcomes related to reputation, relationships, and revenue for key US sector go-to-market campaigns.
- Leadership & Collaboration :Drive PR and campaign outcomes through effective leadership and collaboration with multi-disciplinary marketing and client-facing teams.
Your Profile
- 7-10 years of experience in PR and/or Marketing Communications.
- Strong writing skills with experience building relationships with journalists and media outlets.
- Active and current contact list of journalists, ideally focused on consumer retail, tier 1 news, and broadcast.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and advise stakeholders, building trust and long-term relationships.
- Strong collaboration and team-building skills, demonstrating confident and effective leadership of multidisciplinary and cross-regional marketing teams.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to maintain strategic oversight while driving execution at every stage.
- Location preference: Boston, MA or Atlanta, GA, but candidates from key locations across the US will be considered.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Agency experience is a strong plus.
- Relevant experience and relationships with Consumer and Retail outlets and tier 1 news outlets are a plus.
- Proven experience executing PR and communications for a professional services firm.
- A pragmatic, agile, and open mindset, with a willingness to adapt and innovate to maximize campaign effectiveness and value.
The pay range for this position is $65- $70 per/hour. Compensation may vary depending on relevant experience, skills, geographic location, and business needs.
