Job summary

Coast360 Federal Credit Union in Northern Kentucky is seeking a Consumer Loan Officer to join our team. In this role you will review, underwrite, and authorize or recommend approval of consumer credit applications, including loans, lines of credit and credit cards, following approved policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Two to three years of related experience, preferably as Loan Officer and/or Collection Officer.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and underwrites consumer loan applications in accordance with the Credit Union's Loan Policy, procedures, and established underwriting guidelines.
• Analyzes borrower financial information and calculates monthly income by reviewing pay stubs, employment verification, tax returns, and other supporting documentation.
• Communicates directly with members to obtain additional information or documentation needed to complete loan applications and keep the lending process moving efficiently.
• Communicates credit decisions to members professionally and promptly through in-person conversations, telephone calls, written correspondence, or other appropriate methods.
• Provides basic credit guidance and education to members, including explaining credit-related factors that may affect their ability to obtain financing.
• Supports branch and lending operations during on-site financing activities and promotional events conducted at locations outside Credit Union premises.
• Maintains accurate records and documentation by completing data entry, filing, photocopying, faxing, correspondence, and other general administrative duties associated with loan processing.
• Identifies opportunities to meet members' broader financial needs by educating and cross-selling members on relevant Credit Union products and services.
• Collaborates with branch and lending teams to provide a seamless, professional member experience throughout the application and decision-making process.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time.

Within authorized lending authority and in accordance with established underwriting standards, policies, and procedures, the Consumer Loan Officer reviews, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of consumer credit applications, including consumer loans, lines of credit, and credit card accounts. This position combines sound financial judgment, attention to detail, regulatory awareness, and exceptional member service.

• A high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required.
• Two to three years of related experience , primarily gained through prior experience as a Loan Officer and/or Collection Officer, is preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
