IBC Bank seeks a Mortgage Loan Consultant to proactively solicit new residential mortgage business, work bank referrals, and promote IBC Consumer Mortgage products. You will build a network of referrals, coordinate with the Sales Team and Bankers, and help borrowers through the loan process from pre-qualification to closing.

The role emphasizes relationship building, accurate pricing, and thorough understanding of mortgage products and regulatory disclosures.

Qualifications

• 2 years recent experience in residential loan originations.
• RMLO license highly preferred (NMLS registration required).
• Knowledge of Consumer Mortgage products and Texas Home Equity laws.
• Knowledge of processing, underwriting, closing, and funding of mortgage loans.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains a quality network for mortgage opportunities.

Job Summary:

The Mortgage Loan Consultant position is a sales-oriented position where the loan consultant proactively solicits new residential mortgage business, works bank referral leads, and sells IBC Consumer Mortgage products. The MLC continually develops and maintains a quality network of business relationships that serve as a recurring source of referrals for new mortgage opportunities and develops relationships with the IBC Bank Sales Team and IBC Commercial Bankers. The Mortgage Loan Consultant also evaluates and recommends approval of applications for residential real estate loans, and possesses an understanding of relevant loan products, regulatory disclosures, and interest rate pricing.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Develops and maintains a quality network of business relationships that serve as a recurring source of referrals for new mortgage opportunities
• Develops relationships with the IBC Bank Sales team and IBC Commercial Bankers
• Evaluates and recommends approval of applications for residential real estate loans
• Possesses an understanding of relevant loan products, regulatory disclosures, and interest rate pricing
• Takes information from the borrower and completes the application
• Analyzes the prospective borrower's income and debt and pre-qualifies the prospective borrower
• Educates the prospective borrower in the home financing process, advises the borrower about the different types of loan products available, and demonstrates how closing costs and monthly payments could vary under each product
• Quotes interest rates and fees
• Maintains regular contact with the borrower, contractors, and other third parties between application and closing
• Assists the borrower in understanding and clearing credit problems
• Participates in the loan closing
• Performs other related duties as assigned
