Confidential, an Atlanta-area law firm, seeks an experienced Consumer Collections Paralegal/Bookkeeper to support its growing consumer collection practice. You will handle matter entry, demand letters, e-filing, and precise accounting tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on FDCPA experience, garnishment procedures, and proficiency with QuickBooks and JST CollectMax. Strong communication and independent work style are essential to succeed here.

Qualifications

Experience in consumer collections, account litigation, and garnishment procedures.
Knowledge of the FDCPA and related deadlines.
Detail-oriented with strong deadline management.
Proficient with collections-management systems and e-filing platforms.
Experience with accounting or bookkeeping software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
Proficient in Word and Excel; QuickBooks and JST CollectMax preferred.

Responsibilities

Enter and maintain matter information in the collections-management database.
Draft and send demand letters.
Serve as a point of contact for clients, debtors, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
Draft pleadings, discovery responses, and other litigation documents.
Manage e-filing in state and magistrate courts.
Track and meet critical deadlines, including case, judgment, and judgment-lien renewal deadlines.
Field debtor calls and document communications.
Post payments in accounting software and reconcile receipts.
Prepare disbursement documents and coordinate client payments.
Monitor debtor account status and resolve delinquencies.
Support general office and administrative operations.
