Job summary

Jobtailor in Idaho is seeking a skilled Utility Vegetation Management professional to identify, inspect, and evaluate trees along utility corridors. You will plan, direct, and coordinate line-clearance crews and serve as the liaison between clients, crews, and customers.

The role requires a forestry or environmental science background (or equivalent experience), ISA certifications preferred, GIS and MS Office proficiency, a valid driver's license, and willingness to work in varied terrain and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science or closely related field OR HS diploma/GED plus 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or related field
• High school diploma/GED requirement can be waived for 5 years UVM experience
• Vegetation management experience preferred
• ISA Certified Arborist/TRAQ/ISA Utility Specialist preferred
• Competent with Microsoft Office Suite; GIS data collection experience preferred

Job description

Requirements

• 2 year or 4 year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science or closely related field OR high school diploma/GED plus 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or other related field in lieu of a degree
• High school diploma/GED requirement can be waived for 5 years UVM experience
• Vegetation management experience preferred
• ISA Certified Arborist/TRAQ/ISA Utility Specialist preferred
• Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience working with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware preferred but not required
• Self-motivated, organized, and production oriented
• Comfortable working in an independent environment and managing a geographical area for all vegetation related activities
• Ability to work with stakeholders, utility customers and line clearance vendors
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Multi-tasking and strong time management skills required
• Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules, including nights and weekends as needed
• Valid driver's license required
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check required
