Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a field-based vegetation management professional to identify and inspect trees along utility lines across Florida.

You will document work with handheld computers and GIS-integrated software, coordinate between clients and crews, and balance safety with budgets and community relations. Travel across Florida is required, often for 6 to 8 weeks at a time. A valid driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

• 2- or 4-year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science, or related field, or 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or related field in lieu of a degree.
• High school diploma or GED required, or 5 years of experience in lieu of a high school diploma or GED.
• Strong tree identification preferred.
• Experience in utility vegetation management preferred.
• ISA Certified Arborist preferred but not required.
• Pesticide certification preferred but not required.
• Able to travel extensively, 6 to 8 weeks at a time.
• Able to do overnight travel within Florida.
• Valid driver license required.
• Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with GIS-integrated data collection software/hardware preferred.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and dynamic terrain.
• Self-motivated, organized, and production oriented.
• Comfortable working independently and managing a geographical area for vegetation-related activities.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
