Job summary

SOL Mental Health is seeking a physician leader with an active medical license to provide medical direction and supervision in a hybrid role serving the DC/MD/VA markets. The position emphasizes structured care reviews, evidence-based treatment, and coordination with primary care providers.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of medical direction experience, board certification/eligibility in General Psychiatry, and preferred geriatric/consult-liaison subspecialties. DMV-area locations welcome.

Qualifications

• MD with an active, unrestricted medical license in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
• Active DEA registration or ability to obtain without restriction.
• 3+ years of experience providing medical direction and supervision, particularly with Medicare patients.
• Board certified or board eligible in General Psychiatry.
• Board certification or eligibility in Geriatric Psychiatry or Consult/Liaison Psychiatry preferred.
• IMLC participation preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide Structured Care Review (SCR) to primary treating clinician through systematic case review and treatment plan oversight (average of 32 review hours per week and 6 to 10 patient reviews per hour).
• Recommend treatment adjustments including medications and lab/imaging/study orders, and clinical protocols with the primary care provider.
• Provide high-quality, evidence-based care for adults, young adults, and/or children.
• Support patients in crisis with appropriate interventions.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation.

What You Bring

• MD with an active, unrestricted medical license (or ability to obtain licensure) in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
