Job description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug cloud micro services for OCI's IoT service.

This is a Senior Principal / Consulting Member of Technical Staff level position in software development with a heavy emphasis on software design and coding.

The individual will serve as as a technical lead for team projects and serve on the development team to scale the tools/services to support our high-performance IoT data service. 80%-90% of this role involves hands-on software development of microservices utilizing JDK21, Helidon, Micronaut and PL/SQL.

They will become a cross-component generalist and be intimately familiar with each micro service and their interactions. They will utilize their cross-component knowledge to take ownership of end-to-end feature development, assist other micro-service owners to accelerate development and release of time critical features.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications - Candidates must have demonstrated competency in the following:

• 15+ years of experience in software development

• 8+ years of experience in developing large scale distributed services / applications

• Proficiency with Object-Oriented programming in Java (JDK 17/21 required)

• Working experience with Oracle Database and PL/SQL (23ai preferred)

• Experience in microservice development on a public cloud platform

• Experience with containers and cloud native components

• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

• Must be willing to work on-site in an Oracle office at least 3 days per week

Preferred Qualifications:

• OCI Certifications: Data Foundations, Architect, Networking or Security

• Experience with Jira, Confluence, BitBucket

• Experience and understanding of cloud infrastructure services, regions, and multi-AD designs

• Building CI/CD pipelines with robust testing and deployment schedules

• Experience implementing cloud security best practices

• Masters / PhD degree in Computer Science
