Job summary

ACS Professional Staffing is seeking a Consulting Materials Manager to work on-site with our client in Richland, WA. You will coordinate materials, equipment, specifications, documentation, and vendor activities to support the Nuclear Development project, reporting to the Nuclear Development Engineering Manager.

The role requires leading specification reviews, coordinating with estimating and stakeholders, and guiding procurement priorities while ensuring safety and QA compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of experience required.
  • Ability to lead across multiple disciplines and companies without authority.
  • Experience with quality assurance programs such as NQA-1, ISO 9001, and/or ASME preferred.
  • Experience in the nuclear industry and SMRs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead specification review meetings and coordinate resolution of technical requirements.
  • Chair weekly DOR meetings across three companies, including purchasing responsibilities.
  • Coordinate with estimating and other stakeholders on DOR activities.
  • Develop and maintain documentation to support planning, tracking, and communication.
  • Lead material take-off meetings and reviews to confirm material requirements and procurement priorities.
  • Review forms and documentation for safety-related work to ensure procurement aligns with safety requirements.
  • Review procurement specifications for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Lead vendor selection and product decisions for major equipment and materials, such as turbines.
  • Conduct vendor and product quality reviews and coordinate follow-up actions.
  • Facilitate communication among engineering, estimating, purchasing, vendors, and project stakeholders for timely procurement decisions.
  • Coordinate multiple vendors.

Overview

ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Consulting Materials Manager will support the Nuclear Development project by coordinating and performing materials management activities. This position will help ensure that materials, equipment, specifications, documentation, and vendor-related activities are effectively planned, reviewed, and aligned with project requirements. The role will report to the Nuclear Development Engineering Manager.

This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.

  • Sick Leave: One hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked (sick leave can be used after 90 days of employment)

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  • 5 years of experience required
  • Ability to lead across multiple disciplines and companies without authority
  • Experience with a quality assurance program such as NQA-1, ISO 9001, and/or ASME preferred
  • Experience in the nuclear industry and Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) preferred
