The Role

Our Banking & Financial Services Consulting Practice group is looking for a Consulting Manager to join our journey. This role requires cross-border payments experience.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in handling various payment rails, including Wire, Swift, ACH, cross-border payments, remittances, and Visa Direct. This role requires a deep understanding of payment regulations, middle and back-office functions, fraud prevention, ISO standards, and payment modernization practices.

We are looking for Consulting Managers who can deliver within Cognizant’s Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Consulting Manager, this means partnering with clients and project stakeholders to clarify requirements and support the delivery of effective solutions; applying technical and domain expertise to solve core client business challenges; developing and strengthening domain knowledge; supporting business development activities; and contributing to the development of practice initiatives or new service offerings.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee end-to-end payment processing across multiple rails, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
2. Lead the implementation and optimization of Wire, Swift, cross-border payments, remittances, and Visa Direct payment systems.
3. Collaborate with internal teams to design and deploy robust payment processing solutions.
4. Stay abreast of current and emerging payment regulations and ensure all processes adhere to compliance requirements.
5. Understand middle office and back office operations to streamline payment processing workflows.
6. Implement comprehensive fraud prevention strategies to safeguard payment processing systems.
7. Collaborate with the risk management team to develop and refine risk mitigation protocols.
8. Lead initiatives to modernize payment systems and processes, incorporating the latest technologies and methodologies.
9. Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of payment processing.
10. Develop practice capabilities and brand recognition by exercising thought leadership and participating in professional organizations.

Qualifications

1. 8+ years working in technology, consulting, professional services, or solution development within the Banking & Financial Services industry.
2. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in payment processing, with a focus on core payment rails.
4. Proven experience in managing middle office and back office functions.
5. Strong knowledge of payment regulations and compliance requirements.
6. Experience in fraud prevention and risk management.
7. Familiarity with ISO standards and payment modernization practices.
8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Familiarity with industry-standard payment platforms and protocols.
12. Proficiency in using financial software and tools for payment processing and reporting.
13. Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the payment industry.
14. Advanced proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools.
15. Personal leadership and a desire to create a culture that enables exceptional outcomes.
