Job summary

CDW's Vernon Hills, IL location seeks a Consulting Engineer to design, implement, and support complex physical security systems for enterprise clients. You'll lead client engagements, architect security solutions, configure systems, and collaborate with account managers to identify opportunities.

The role requires 2+ years of consulting, LAN/WAN and security experience, Genetec/Milestone exposure, travel up to 50%, and a relevant degree or 7 years IT experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, related technical field or 7 years of IT experience with 3 years delivering complex technical solutions.
• Minimum of 2 years consulting experience.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in infrastructure/network environments including LAN/WAN design and security.
• Genetec or Milestone systems engineering experience.
• At least one year of programming or analytical work.
• Ability to travel 25% to 50%.
• Strong client communication skills.
• Axis/Milestone/Genetec-related certifications are a plus.
• Experience with video surveillance or physical security implementations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform client consultation: plan, design, implement, and support Physical Security Systems.
• Develop and implement the technical architecture and physical design of the network.
• Set up, configure, and test Physical Security Systems including video, access control, sensors and third-party integrations.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to complex hardware/software problems.
• Assist Account Managers during the sales process and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Manage projects using CDW's methodology and adhere to lifecycle processes.
• Ensure a stable performance environment for enterprise applications.
• Participate in IT projects to upgrade converged network solutions.
• Serve as a technical point of contact with customers and stakeholders.
• Create and execute test plans and manage time/expenses per SOW.
• Provide high-quality content deliverables and ensure implementation aligns with design.
