EnerSys Advanced Systems (EAS) seeks an experienced Consulting Electrical Engineer in Commack, NY to lead high-level electrical architectures for advanced battery solutions crafted for aerospace, defense, and medical applications.

The role requires 15+ years in electrical design, power systems, and a strong battery tech background, with proficiency in CAN/serial communications and microcontroller integration. Remote-friendly with substantial compensation and benefits.

Competenze

Compensation Range: $140,000 to $170,000
Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set.

Job Purpose

The Consulting Electrical Engineer at Bren-Tronics, part of EnerSys and a manufacturer of advanced portable power solutions, serves as a senior technical authority responsible for solving highly complex engineering challenges and defining advanced electrical architectures. The successful candidate will have expertise in power electronics, battery protection systems, embedded controls, and military standards compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical circuits for batteries, chargers, and rechargeable battery systems.
• Create detailed electrical schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Design and integrate battery monitoring and protection systems.
• Perform system analysis related to electrical performance, thermal management, EMI, and reliability.
• Use engineering tools for simulation, modeling, and analysis of electrical designs.
• Support environmental and electrical qualification testing in accordance with military and defense standards.
• Work closely with mechanical, software, systems, and manufacturing teams throughout the development cycle.
• Participate in technical reviews and risk assessments for new products.
• Provide technical support to Sales and Marketing for bids and proposals.
• Prepare clear documentation for testing, production, and customer requirements.
  Provide technical guidance on complex engineering initiatives.
  Support development of engineering standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in electrical design, power systems, or defense-related products.
• Strong knowledge of lithium-ion and similar battery technologies, including system safety and protection designs.
• Experience with battery systems, power electronics, and low-EMI circuit design.
• Proficiency with electrical design software tools.
• Experience integrating electronics with microcontrollers and communication protocols such as CAN or serial communications.
• Hands‑on experience testing, troubleshooting, and qualifying electronic systems.
• Strong commitment to quality, reliability, and technical excellence.
