Nationwide is seeking a Consultant, Software Engineer to design and write production scripts for resolving live application incidents across insurance platforms. You will engage in mainframe development using COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL and VSAM.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering and 5 years of experience, plus Oracle/SQL PL/SQL skills and ITSM experience with ServiceNow and Jira. Hybrid work environment with on-call expectations.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing, coding, debugging and maintaining mainframe apps.
• Proficiency with COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, VSAM, Oracle and SQL tools.
• Familiarity with ITSM processes and incident management.

Responsabilités

• Design and write production scripts to resolve live application incidents across insurance platforms.
• Maintain and enhance mainframe programs (online/batch) using COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, VSAM.
• Write advanced SQL (Oracle/PL/SQL) for data remediation and reporting.
• Follow ITSM processes with ServiceNow and Jira.

Software Engineer needed to design and write production scripts that resolve live application incidents across insurance platforms. Engage in mainframe development and support, including design, coding, debugging, and maintenance of online and batch programs using COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, VSAM, and IBM mainframe tools. Perform database engineering by writing database advanced SQL queries to support data remediation, production fixes, and business reporting needs using Oracle, SQL Developer, PL/SQL, and stored procedures. Leverage ITSM Processes such as Incident Management, Defect Management, Problem Management and Knowledge Management utilizing tools such as ServiceNow and Jira. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering and 5 years of experience performing the duties listed above.

Working Conditions: Hybrid to normal office environment. Associates may have on-call responsibility after normal working hours and/or on weekends.
