Job Description

The Consultant Relations Principal is responsible for building trusted, strategic relationships with key consultant and Blues plan partners to enhance Prime’s reputation, broaden market influence, and support profitable sales growth. This role partners across internal teams to position Prime’s capabilities and deliver a superior consultant and client experience, resulting in increased RFP activity, improved win rates, and greater account retention.

Responsibilities
  • Network, establish and maintain trusted, strategic partnerships with key customers, including C-suite, to broaden Prime’s market penetration and enhance Prime’s reputation within the healthcare community.
  • Partner with leadership and internal stakeholders to construct and execute a comprehensive consultant Go-to-Market pipeline and long-term sales strategy, including the development and delivery of the Prime Value story.
  • Develop and execute structured consultant engagement plans, including quarterly meetings, advisory board participation, topical webinars, and educational materials.
  • Leverage analytics to create and execute strategic plans tailored to prospects’ marketplace and business issues.
  • Serve as a subject matter bridge, connecting external consultants to Prime’s internal experts and solutions.
  • Partner with Blues plan account teams to enhance local market strategies and support business development efforts.
  • Gather feedback from consultants and Blues plans to identify market trends and inform product development and positioning strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience; High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 8 years of related sales and account management experience in healthcare, PBM, pharmacy benefit management, health care consulting, health plan, or health insurance industry.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

  • Ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams to meet objectives.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and strategic planning skills.

  • Ability to build strong relationships and lead virtual teams within Prime.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or related advanced degree.
  • Experience with benefits underwriting process.
  • Experience working with Blues plans and consultant engagement strategies.
  • Experience with pharmacy benefits consultants, brokerage firms, or national consulting practices.
Physical Demands
  • Travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Constantly required to sit, handle, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Occasionally lift/move up to 10 or 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Employees must comply with security responsibilities, legal, regulatory, contractual, and internal policies.

Potential pay ranges from $124,000 to $211,000, based on experience and skills.
