Responsibilities

• Evaluates the drug regimen reviews of patients in the facility to assure appropriate drug therapy.
• Monitors facility compliance with Federal and State guidelines and notes irregularities.
• Educates nurses about problem areas within the facility and areas of staff interest.
• Reviews physician orders for appropriate action, dosage and interactions.
• Assists in training and supervising pharmacy technicians, interns, and externs.
• Produces written reports on findings for monthly facility visits.
