E78 Partners is seeking an experienced construction accounting professional to join a mid-sized client as an Assistant Controller focused on billing. You will lead day-to-day billing, oversee pay apps, schedules of values, change orders, and retainage, while contributing to a finance transformation.

This role combines hands-on execution with process redesign, travel to Michigan initially, then remote work, and mentorship of project accounting staff as we build scalable, controls-driven billing

Responsabilidades

• Own and run the project billing cycle, including pay applications, schedules of values, change orders and retainage
• Reconcile project billings against contracts, cost reports and subcontractor commitments so billings are accurate and complete
• Make sure owner billings line up with subcontractor pay applications to protect cash flow and working capital
• Review and correct open or recent billings, working with project managers and project accountants to resolve differences
• Document the current billing workflow and identify gaps in controls, handoffs, timing and visibility
• Recommend improvements to billing processes, controls, review steps and reporting, and help implement them
• Help build standard procedures, checklists and calendars so billing doesn’t depend on one person
• Partner with the PMO on wider finance transformation work, including systems, reporting and roles and responsibilities
• Mentor and support project accounting staff

E78 Partners is looking for an experienced construction accounting professional to support one of our clients, an established, mid-sized construction industry company. The firm is starting a finance transformation and needs a hands‑on leader to stabilize its billing function right away and build a stronger, more scalable process for the long term.

You’ll work as an Assistant Controller focused on billing, alongside E78’s transformation PMO and the client’s finance leadership. The role combines day‑to‑day execution with process redesign.

This WILL Require Initial Travel to Michigan then remote.
