Compensation Range: $65,000 - $95,000

Altus Group is currently looking for a Real Estate Valuation Consultant to join our New York office in the Advisory, Altus Analytics division. The consultant will manage daily workflow through interaction with clients, subordinates, and supervisors, and oversee the quarterly valuation process of institutional real estate funds, including all aspects of the appraisal management process and real estate investment vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop advanced Excel solutions, including VBA programming, data simulation, analytics, and complex formulas (macros, Power Query, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, dynamic name ranges, etc.).
• Create and improve client deliverables through data visualization, including tables, charts, graphs, dashboards, and geospatial maps.
• Interpret client requests and delegate tasks to the team.
• Manage projects and engagements to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Review work produced by junior staff before client or third‑party submission; coach and mentor junior analysts.
• Review third‑party appraisal reports, resolve concerns with clients or appraisers.
• Ensure appraisal reports comply with USPAP and state regulations.
• Maintain client communication throughout the valuation engagement, including creation or review of portfolio metric presentations.
• Build relationships with peers and senior contacts at client firms.
• Deliver high‑quality service and maintain technical excellence.

Key Qualifications

• University or college degree in Finance, Statistics, Data/Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
• Strong Excel proficiency with experience in complex tasks and VBA; knowledge of R or Python, SQL, Tableau/PowerBI, and Snowflake is a plus.
• Experience in Commercial Real Estate Valuation, Asset Management, Acquisitions, or Underwriting.
• Expertise in financial analysis and modeling for commercial property types (office, industrial, retail, multifamily) using ARGUS.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Project‑management skills: managing deadlines, creating plans, evaluating results, and communicating at‑risk tasks.
• Track record of successful management of client deliverable lifecycles.
