Transit is seeking a skilled construction worker in Albuquerque, NM to participate in renovation and maintenance of city facilities and parks. Responsibilities include carpentry, masonry, plumbing, painting and basic electrical work, with emphasis on safety and quality.
Ability to read blueprints and operate power tools is essential. The role covers both interior and exterior work, including framing additions, installing doors and windows, and finishing carpentry.
Participate in the construction, maintenance, repair and remodeling of facilities/structures and parks; perform a variety of construction tasks involved in the renovation of wooden, concrete, brick or metal City buildings including rough and finish carpentry, masonry, block laying, painting, plumbing, basic electrical, minor welding, plastering, roofing, tiling, fence installation and sheetrock work and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

High school diploma or GED supplemented by thirty (30) credit hours of specialized training in construction, carpentry, plumbing, or welding; and
Two (2) years of general construction experience.
Field and construction site environment; travel from site to site; work around traffic and construction equipment; exposure to fumes, dust, noise and inclement weather conditions.
Essential and supplemental functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for standing, walking, crouching, bending, and climbing for prolonged periods of time; moderate to heavy lifting and carrying; operating motorized vehicles and equipment.
