Job description

Morton Buildings is looking to expand our construction crews and employee owners! Morton Buildings, Inc. is the industry leader in post-frame construction. We have been in business for 120 years and operate over 10 manufacturing, fabrication, and shipping plants servicing more than 100 construction centers nationwide. Each year, thousands of new buildings display the familiar Morton M across America.

Salary is $22.00 to $24.00 per hour based on experience.

Bonus! Earn an additional $2000 your first year. New crew members receive a $500 bonus every quarter during their first year of employment with Morton Buildings. These bonuses are subject to all applicable taxes.

Under the guidance of your crew foreman, you will:

1. Learn, stay current with, and apply Morton Buildings' safety and construction procedures, methods, and standards.
2. Read, understand, and build according to construction plans.
3. Utilize various tools and equipment to construct buildings safely and efficiently.
4. Perform tasks such as digging and installing footings, framing walls and roof structures, installing windows, doors, siding, roofing materials, and finishing with trims.
5. Work with other crew members in a safe, organized, productive, and respectful environment.

Qualifications:

1. Preferred experience in building construction, carpentry, or framing (on-the-job or in school).
2. Willingness to participate in and complete training programs.
3. A valid driver’s license is preferred.
4. Availability to work 9-10 hours during peak season.
5. Ability to follow directions and produce quality work efficiently.
6. Commitment to safety procedures and proper tool operation.
7. Ability to operate safety equipment effectively.
8. Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, with occasional lifts up to 100 pounds.
9. Capable of working at heights up to 40 feet and in physically demanding environments.
10. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
11. This role involves approximately 30% travel, including overnight stays up to two weeks.
