Job summary

STRATA Networks is seeking a dependable Construction Worker to help build and maintain telecommunications infrastructure in Utah. This role involves outdoor, physical work including underground and aerial cable installation, fiber infrastructure, and site maintenance.

You will support equipment operators, follow safety procedures, and collaborate with a crew to complete projects on schedule. Candidates must pass a drug screen and be available for varying shifts, including weekends and

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to operate tools or learn as needed.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to follow construction plans and instructions.
• A commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• The ability to pass a required drug screening and be available for on-call assignments, weekends, holidays, varying shifts, and out-of-town work.

Responsibilities

• Assist equipment operators with loading, unloading, and distributing construction materials.
• Install and maintain underground and aerial telecommunications cable and fiber infrastructure.
• Dig trenches, expose existing utilities, and operate hand tools and assigned equipment.
• Assist with backfilling, roadway patching, and construction site cleanup.
• Set up traffic control devices and maintain safe work zones.
• Assist with equipment cleaning, fueling, greasing, and minor repairs.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow all safety procedures.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Crew Lead or Supervisor.

Work Environment and Conditions

• Irregular hours, with shifts potentially reaching 10–15 hours during peak construction season.

Physical Demands

• Perform strenuous physical work, including lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Operate hand tools and power equipment.
• Bend, kneel, walk on uneven terrain, and enter or exit trenches, manholes, and vaults.
