Job summary

The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates for the Utility Engineer I/II (Construction) position. The role will emphasize engineering design, construction management, contract oversight, and field inspections to support district projects.

Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, with two years of engineering experience preferred (water/wastewater). The I level is a training pathway with potential non-competitive promotion to II after program

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (Civil/Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical/Chemical/Construction Management).
• Two (2) years of experience in engineering, preferably water/wastewater.
• Full-time professional experience may substitute for education, up to two years.

Responsibilities

• Assisting project management staff by providing engineering design, construction management, contract oversight, and field inspections.
• Interfacing with District staff, utility agencies, consultants, contractors, and other governmental agencies to clarify and resolve engineering design and construction problems.
• Participating in continuous improvement by evaluating construction phase issues and integrating lessons learned into District practices and procedures.
• Ensuring construction contractor conformance of the construction documents, and resolving contractual and field conflicts encountered.
• Contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit’s service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
