Job summary

Starr in San Francisco is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to provide organized, detail-oriented support to the regional underwriting team on primary construction accounts.

You will manage policy documentation for 26 active accounts (WC, GL, Auto), coordinate renewals and certificates, and maintain accurate data in underwriting systems.

The role emphasizes collaboration with underwriters, brokers, and clients, handling reporting and special projects to help Primary Construction grow.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in commercial insurance preferred.
• Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, and Auto Liability policies.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and technical support to the San Francisco Regional Manager and Underwriters on primary construction accounts.
• Manage and process documentation for 26 active policies (WC, GL, AL).
• Coordinate policy renewals, endorsements, audits, and certificates of insurance.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure timely data entry in underwriting systems.
• Serve as liaison between underwriters, brokers, and clients to facilitate account management.
• Assist with reporting, analysis, and special projects as needed for Primary Construction.
