Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Truck Operator to drive multiple truck types on construction projects and follow Mortenson safety policies. The role requires coordination with teams, adherence to safety and maintenance routines, and readiness to travel to project sites as needed.

The ideal candidate brings related construction experience, a valid driver's license, and strong teamwork, communication, and safety awareness to ensure efficient operations and on-time project completion.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid driver’s license with endorsements as required by law.
• Related construction experience preferred.
• Must be able to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and load charts.
• Ability to move levers, shift gears, depress pedals, and operate steering to control equipment.
• Strong teamwork and customer service orientation; effective communication with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks based on project requirements: Water Truck, Dump Truck, Haul Truck, Tractor Trailer/Lowboy.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations and Mortenson safety policies.
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned area.
• Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, fueling, and cleaning.
• Observe equipment operation to detect malfunctions and report issues.
• Follow work plans and pre-task cards.
• Build relationships with team members at all levels.
• Ability to travel per project needs.
