Horizontal Boring & Tunneling Co. is seeking a Construction Truck Driver (CDL-A Required) to transport equipment and materials to and from job sites across the central USA, with occasional loading/unloading assistance. The role emphasizes safety, timely logs, and on-time deliveries.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of safe driving experience, a CDL Class A license, and a valid DOT physical, with overnight travel Monday through Friday as needed. Comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip, enroute, and post-trip inspections and report any mechanical or safety concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of truck and trailer.
• Safely assist with loading, securing, and unloading construction equipment and materials at main location and on jobsite.

Position Overview -Transport equipment and materials to and from job sites throughout the central USA, with the ability to assist in loading/unloading/securement.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a loaded tractor‑trailer combination in compliance with Federal & State DOT regulations and company rules.
• Maintain accurate hours-of-service logs (ELD)
• Perform pre‑trip, enroute, and post‑trip inspections and report any mechanical or safety concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of truck and trailer.
• Safely assist with loading, securing, and unloading construction equipment and materials (main location and on jobsite) occasionally.
• Occasionally assist trenchless construction crews with jobsite responsibility.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Operate loaded tractor-trailer combination in rural and metro conditions in Interstate Commerce
• Climbing, lifting, bending, walking on uneven surfaces, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Occasional work on construction jobsites.

What We’re Looking For

• 2 – 5 years of safe professional driving experience
• CDL Class A license required (Tanker Endorsement preferred, not required)
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Valid DOT physical and a negative pre-employment drug screen
• Ability to report to Exeter, Nebraska
• Reliable, safety-focused, and team player
• Experience with heavy haul (a plus; but not required)
• Overnight travel Monday through Friday, as needed
• Average 2.5 nights per week/per year
